As you are all well aware, COVID-19 has forced Ohio Wesleyan to make some difficult decisions affecting our students, faculty, staff members, prospective families, and alumni. Ohio Wesleyan faculty are moving to virtual learning this week, students were asked to move out of dorms, commencement has been postponed for our senior class, and staff moved to a remote working environment.  At this time, I also share the news we have decided to postpone Reunion Weekend 2020. While this likely isn’t a surprise, it is with a heavy heart that we make this announcement.

Ohio Wesleyan alumni have inspired me with their love for the University and Reunion Weekend, which most symbolizes the special friendships, traditions and experiences that make OWU the wonderful place it is. While this year’s event will not take place, it is very important to us that we have the chance to celebrate your reunion with you! Please save the date as we invite you and your classmates to join us for an equally amazing and unforgettable Reunion Weekend next year (May 14-16, 2021).

As we move forward with this news, I would like to share some additional communication we are providing to you and others:

  • If you have already registered for Reunion Weekend, please watch your inbox on Monday as information will be shared on how to obtain a refund and/or transfer your registration fee to a gift to the Ohio Wesleyan Fund. An email tax receipt and acknowledgment will be sent for your contribution.
  • Many of your class reunion committees will continue to work together to help you stay connected over the course of the next year and keep the excitement going for when you join us on campus in 2021.
  • I also encourage you to visit where we will continue to post updates and information regarding Reunion Weekend.

Our efforts to engage alumni with Ohio Wesleyan and each other remains a top priority during this time. We are actively working on plans to ensure Bishops are connecting with each other in their communities, with outreach to prospective students (we are still recruiting future Bishops!) and creating ways to virtually bring OWU to you.

We will continue to keep you informed about how our community is rising to this occasion through our website, email updates, the Alumni & Friends newsletter, the OWU Magazine, and our alumni volunteers. We are grateful for your support, now more than ever.

These are challenging circumstances for all of us. We are all fortunate to be a part of the Bishop family, and we are grateful for the many ways you continue to support Ohio Wesleyan each and every day. My best wishes and heartfelt concern are extended to each of you during this time and always. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me personally at
